René was promoted to GM of Advertising International AOL in April 2011 while still being effective as CEO of Goviral (a Kennet III Portfolio company).

He is responsible for the International advertising and revenues of AOL Advertising and Goviral. Being a successful part of the European media/tech start up environment since 1998, René recently sold Goviral to AOL for $97m. Goviral is a fast growing branded video content distributor with offices across Europe. Before Goviral, René spent more than 8 years helping to establish TradeDoubler as a leading European provider of performance-based marketing solutions. René prefunded TradeDoubler and registered an IPO in 2005. Prior, René worked in private equity, co-founded a management consultancy and worked in a marketing and communications agency group. René is on the board of Trademob, a Kennet III portfolio company. He is also a seed investor in Adjug, Overwolf, Movellas.com, Gateway Japan and co-founder of Adamma. In June 2011, René was listed number 45 on Wired Europe’s most influential Top 100 list.
